Project overviews for your specific apprenticeship are on the relevant apprenticeship pages
When the project requires you to access Practice-Labs or any other virtual platform, the BCS will issue the required codes to the college at least 5 days prior to the project start
Apprentices can use these codes and rehearse use of the systems in college or where ever they have a fast internet connection.
The synoptic project itself will be run at the college in a controlled environment:
- Apprentices are not allowed to converse with each other
- Assessors cannot give any advice to the apprentices unless there is an issue with the resources
- The project may be open book, you will get instructions before hand
You have up to 5 days to complete the project
You will be given all the relevant codes and information at the start of the project
The hours spent on the project must be recorded
At the completion of the project the college and the apprentice have to sign a Synoptic Project Declaration
- The project was conducted in a controlled environment
- The time taken to complete the project in hours
- That all the project outputs have been destroyed, once they are sent to the BCS
The required project outputs and the signed declaration form are emailed to the BCS
The BCS will issue an automatic ticket number to acknowledge receipt
